As College Admissions deadlines approach, you may be experiencing Writer’s Block on that Main Common App Essay, or perhaps you are struggling with just what to say on those pesky Supplemental Essays. Maybe you want another set of eyes—an experienced writer— to review your essay? Well, now you have that option: a ONE-HOUR ‘POWER HOUR’ College Admissions Essay Review with an experienced writer and writing teacher! Whether you are a former Fearless Dragon Writer (or not), let’s meet in person (or on Zoom if that is more convenient for you), and review your College Admissions Essay!

If you register for ONE ‘POWER HOUR’ REVIEW SESSION, you will have your College Admissions Essay reviewed by Andrea Felcone, an experienced (and multiple contest-winning) writer and writing teacher--with over a decade of experience inspiring students to write. This ONE-HOUR ‘POWER HOUR’ REVIEW is for any College Admissions essay—Main or Supplemental—in any stage of development. Whether you are in the first draft stage or the final draft stage, we will spend the hour in whatever way serves you best.

  • Your ‘POWER HOUR’ REVIEW can include any of the following:

  • BRAINSTORMING to generate ideas—proven techniques that work!

  • UNCOVERING YOUR MAIN IDEA/THEME—to help you crystallize exactly what you are trying to say, while highlighting you and your strengths!

  • DISCOVERING THE BEST ENDING—it often takes a few rewrites to get to that ‘just right’ ending—an ending that doesn’t just reiterate what the rest of the essay says, but adds something meaningful!

  • EDITING and/or PROOFREADING—grammar, spelling, all of those final touches matter!

  • Your POWER HOUR REVIEW will include:

  • A CALMING and POSITIVE PRESENCE—to encourage writing during this (often) stressful time. (Deep breaths…. It will all be O.K.)

HOW THIS PROCESS WORKS:

After you REGISTER, I will reach out to you, and we will schedule your ONE-HOUR REVIEW either in-person or on Zoom.

You must fill out the REGISTRATION FORM IN ITS ENTIRETY for me to be able to reach out to you. Thank you!

Then, SEND ME YOUR ESSAY (Google Doc preferred) in whatever stage it is in, and I will review it before our meeting. Include any details as to what is bothering you about your essay in its current draft.

After that, we will spend our HOUR discussing whatever issue is most troubling you, whether it is the main theme, the ending, grammar, etc., and I will provide my feedback.

That’s it! Easy! And you will be that much closer to finishing! (YAY!)
