"Slide Into Writing Fun": Summer 2026 (In-Person) Kids' Writing Workshop
Summer, academically, is usually known as the “Summer Slide”, isn’t it? The “Summer Slide” refers to the loss of academic knowledge that occurs during the summer months when school is not in session. Well, what if we could ‘rebrand’ the “Summer Slide” to mean … “SLIDE INTO SUMMER WRITING FUN”! Why not? A time to take part in a FUN KIDS’ WRITING WORKSHOP where the focus is on LEARNING and ENJOYING the writing process! Sliding into success! Doesn’t that sound better?
This is a 6-session (in-person) Kids’ Writing Workshop (that occurs over two back-to-back weeks) to keep your child writing over the Summer in a way that will actually be CREATIVE and FUN for them!
In each session, a children’s author will be featured, and a different writing concept will be explored. After listening to a short excerpt of a longer work, or a picture book, the Fearless Dragons will write their own stories based on the theme or the featured author’s style. Each session includes original Writing Worksheets designed to support the lesson and inspire writing. Each session ends with “Snack n’ Share” as the children share their stories in a supportive environment while munching on allergy-friendly snacks. The playfully-themed sessions—full of SUMMER THEMES--inspire writers, including reluctant writers—and show that writing, once fear is removed, can actually be—fun!
The SUMMER KIDS’ WRITING WORKSHOP MEETS ON THE FOLLOWING SIX DAYS:
