$4.00

If you are fond of teaching writing through Fractured Fairy Tales, then I bet we would be pals out there in the 'real world'. Fractured Fairy Tales are a fantastic way to motivate young writers, especially reluctant writers. Students find them familiar (and comforting) and enjoy 'twisting' them into their own outlandish tales full of humor and adventure! So, my newfound friend, here are some writing materials designed to teach children (ages 8 – 13) the writing concepts of PERSPECTIVE and PERSONIFICATION through FRACTURED FAIRY TALE FUN! These materials were created for the mentor text: "The Very Smart Pea and the Princess-To-Be" (by author/illustrator Mini Grey) and are at the heart of my FULL LESSON PLAN for that book. You can use these materials in several ways, but I like to use them as follows...

* I start by READING ALOUD the picture book "The Very Smart Pea and the Princess-To-Be" (by Mini Grey). Then, I ...

* TEACH a lesson on 'FRACTURED FAIRY TALES, PERSPECTIVE, and PERSONIFICATION'. You can make it easy on yourself and use my FULL LESSON PLAN (also on this website) if you like. It is FULLY SCRIPTED and contains enough material for 1.5 hours of teaching. (Trim it as you see fit.)

Then, DISTRIBUTE and READ ALOUD the Printable WRITING WORKSHEET. Have your students select their favorite Writing Choice from the Writing Worksheet! Allow at least 20 minutes of student WRITING TIME. * Then allow at least 20 minutes for SHARING TIME as the children read their work aloud in a supportive environment.

To purchase, simply CLICK ON the “ADD TO CART” button. After CHECKOUT, you will receive a LINK to DOWNLOAD these materials. (Download as soon as possible after receiving the link to ensure the link stays active. Thank you!)

NOTE: There's much more valuable content in the FULL LESSON PLAN, as well as Writing Teaching Tips, Some Author Fun Facts, and more!

Thank you for joining me in my mission to make writing fun for children!
